Membership Report: 2010-2011    Director: PP. PHF. Saph. Pin. John Garwood.

Last year's report anticipated starting the year with 40 members. Unfortunately just prior to the 30rh June we lost a further member giving us a 1st July 2010 membership of 39.

By 31st December 2010 we had 42 members, then a further member in January 2011 making our current membership of 43.

However, by 30th June 2011 we will lose one member due to their relocation of business commitments, also possibly two other members which may take us back to 40.

We have further members who have been very active in our Club projects over many years and, having recently retired, quite understandably, wish to make extended travel plans.

The above statistics highlight the importance of the continued effort required by all the members to encourage those potential new members to join and retain existing ones by including them in the activities, fun and responsibilities that make a successful Club.

The continued updating of our Club Website has shown that people wishing to know about what Rotary is and what it does are using it. It then becomes the responsibility of all the members to maximize those enquiries into new members. Please make use of our Invitation Cards and Introducing The Rotary Club of Woy Woy Leaflets. You will be giving these people the opportunity to share the fun and friendship that we all enjoy.

I am fortunate to have been asked to be the Membership Director for 2011/12 by President-Elect Annette Karton and look forward to working with her, her team and all the members of our Club. I am always very happy to receive your proposals and advice on this subject.
