President's Report.    President: Don Tee. (P.P. 2010-2011)

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

What a year it has been!!

Busy, busy you say. Yes it sure was, but great fun and I would do it all again (in another 25 years!) Having the opportunity to serve the Rotary Club of Woy Woy Inc and Rotary International as Club President has indeed been a great honour and privilege. Lots of things have changed since I last had the chance to be President, with ladies now being on important membership of our club and some of our best workers.

The year's success would not have been possible without the members support, and having been blessed with two fantastic aids in PP Susan Baldock and PP John Garwood, both of whom have been invaluable throughout the year with their constant chats, support, emails and mateship. Their Rotary knowledge is second to none.

Taking over from PP Peter Clark, who instigated the new Rotary format, with just a few hiccups, things have gone just great. Our meetings have been interesting with a great array of guest speakers, thanks to PP Bruce Judd. His is one of the most difficult jobs in Rotary, finding speakers each week that are of interest to all members. Our meals, surroundings and staff at Everglades have been excellent and it is a pleasure to meet here.

Our fellowship meetings over the months have been interesting, different or unusual; make of them what you will. Most times the committees didn't get around to discussing business but did have great fellowship. We continued with our usual projects. The Opera being our major event. This is a big job for PP John Greenway and his committee but once again was a huge success with the youth of the Peninsula being the beneficiaries of the proceeds as well as the residents of Pearl Beach.

Fiona has kept us intrigued with a variety of outings, from kookaburra spotting at Kurri Kurri to the Christmas party at the Yellow Piano with Trevor, where a great night was had by all.

PP Ted has kept us hopping with community projects. The "South African Weed Whacker" has had a real workout. Ted and his bond of workers have also been busy at Mary Mac's and the Girl Guides hall at Ettalong.

The trailer raffle has also been successful again, along with Bowel Scan and the ANZAC Dawn Service. Ted has also been filling in Sergeant At Arms since our grey nomads John and Bill headed off to the wilds of Australia. Thanks Ted, Charles and the team.

Jan Steele once again has had us to the High School for a meeting. We appreciate how difficult it is to find venues and businesses that we could visit on a Tuesday night. Outings and Vocational speakers have been great fun.

John Regan has been busy trying to sort out some of our past International projects and raising support for the Mukti project. We have supported Stepping Stones Cambodia to build a toilet block for their new school with US$500.00.

Youth Director Sue McCarthy had the club participate in RYDA, Rotaract, RYPEN and other youth programs.

It is often hard to determine what banner a project comes under. It really doesn't matter as long as we get the job done. Thanks to those who have participated in our many projects. We have had many and varied projects throughout the year- too many to list!

We have had good publicity thanks to PP Tony Cameron and his diligence in getting the information out there.

Membership is strong with four new members inducted during the year, with Arthur Pearce and Colin Mew transferring in from Rotary Clubs, and Martin Schotte and Vic Brown joining as brand new Rotarians. Although some of our current members will be moving on we are still in good shape and have great fellowship within our club. Thanks to PP John and Susan Garwood for hosting the Sea Scouts fund raising luncheon at their home.

With some great pencil work by our Treasurer PP Peter and emailing from Secretary Amanda, both in their first term of the job have excelled, and we have had a very successful year. We have also reinstalled the directional plaque on to the plinth at Staples Lookout, with assistance from Gosford City Council.

Throw in two trips to New Zealand to go "fushin", a knee replacement for Granny Tee, an engagement and a little work; it has been a busy year. Thanks to those who filled in during my absence and to everyone for their support throughout the year. It indeed has been a great privilege to serve the club again. I wish Annette every success and know that with the support of the members she will also have a great year.

Yours in Rotary,
President Don.
